5. Discussion
5.1 Clarification on the action items for XML project, approved in the last ITSIG Plenary
5.1.1 to provide additional information and guidance to support the
implementation of ISO/IEC TR 9573-11:2004

9573-11 provides an interchange format, which can be introduced into existing tools as it is.
5.1.2 to continue the pilot project for consolidating an ISO/XML DTD
and related style specification
5.1.3 Proposal by Mr. Gerundino:
The possibility of promoting in JTC1 the use of an
"adapted" ISO STD template (associating selected XML-tagged elements) to
support the JTC1 request for automating the extraction of document sections
associated to ISONET data elements (such as abstract, scope, table of
contents, normative references). This could help to promote the use of an
harmonized ISO XML DTD by all interested groups.
5.2 Target and schedule of XML activity in ITSIG
When can we expect for ISO to introduce formally an XML format for authoring,
interchanging and archiving ISO standards documents?
